Well, the only difference at first glance is that you get the number of hits on the right side of the suggested search term.

Of course, the advantage and beauty of Google reides in being simple and staying simple. There's surely a lot of change internally and I guess that advanced users will be able to make more things with Google, but what's important is that it stays as always and that the normal people can find something that they know an trust.

MS' Bing offers a new interface, new way of searching and for now less results, thus for the almost everybody the option is clear: Stay with that what you know. This creates a feedback effect (a 'vicious circle' of you see it from MS' or Yahoo's point of view) and it will make it very difficult for any competitor to reach a critical mass that enables them to compete in the search engine market. I know that competition is good, but this market is special: Nobody will decide whether to search with one or the other. This is easy to explain as we do indeed use the search engine to have a base to take a decision: We will decide which site to visit or select a list of sites and documents on which to base a decision or investigation. In this context taking a decision to enable us to take other decisions is a bit redundant, and we will use the easiest solution.

Easy does not always mean that what others pre-install to force us to use their choices, else everybody would be using MS Live Search. In this case, easy means something that first comes to our minds. And in this sense Google is more than these mega-brands like Coca-Cola: We can drink any coke and say that we are drinking a 'coca-cola' (in many countries like Spain this is a fact) using the trademark as a generic name... in the case of Google we do indeed go for the real thing and open www.google.com when we want to 'google' something.
